We spent two days anchored within the Khutzeymateen Bear Sanctuary. It was established in 1994 to provide a safe haven for 40-50 grizzly bears that live in the valley. We had bears 200' from where we were anchored. Almost every time you looked there would be a bear.
2018 UPDATE: We are heading to the South Pacific August 2018-November 2019....
Captain Anne and Captain Diana's now taking Arctic Loon offshore leaving Seattle in August 2018. We will leave August 12th with the Coho Ho Ho Rally and work our way down the West Coast of the United States to San Diego. In late October, we will join 120+ boats in teh 35th Annual Baja Ha Ha Rally from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas. We will spend the winter in Mexico with the goal of finding a weather window in April 2019 to cross over to the Marquesas in French Polynesia. The Summer of 2019, we will explore the islands of the South Pacific. Then in October 2019 we will have another extended offshore adventure arriving in New Zealand in November 2019. Who knows where the next chapter will take me? Do I return to Seattle? Do I buy a boat? Do I explore New Zealand? Will some of you come visit me in New Zealand?
Featured below are amazing photos from our 10 week round trip journey in the Summer 2014 from Poulsbo to Southeast Alaska. Words can not describe how incredible it is to wake up every day wondering what adventures the day will bring. The blog is not complete as internet access was limited and then my Macbook Pro died.
Come back in August 2018 if you want to follow our offshore adventure from Poulsbo to the South Pacific. ~ Captain Anne
